French Antique Jewelry Earrings Antique 18k Dormeuse

Purchased from an antique jewelry shop in France.

These are dormeuse earrings, a design where the hook passes from behind the earlobe to the front and is inserted into the hole of the motif. They are comfortable enough to wear while sleeping and are also known as sleeper earrings.

These earrings feature a French daisy (marguerite) motif. They are three-dimensional with a pearl in the center, giving them a華やかな impression.

Metal: 18k (stamped with the eagle head hallmark indicating 18k or higher in France)
Era: Circa 1900

*I have worn these a few times myself, and there were no issues with wear, but the looseness or tightness of the hardware is based on personal perception.
Also, as these are quite old, there are some distortions and discoloration.
They are not perfect, so please check the photos for details of the condition. If you are concerned, please refrain from purchasing.

*Dormeuse earrings are also called sleeper earrings (earrings that can be worn while sleeping) and are very comfortable, but it may be a little difficult to get used to wearing them. When hooking the earrings into the catch after passing them through the earlobe, they may slip and not hook properly.
Please be careful when handling them, as applying force in the wrong direction or using too much force when removing them can cause deformation or damage.
