① "LET 'EM ROLL" - BIG JOHN PATTON
1966 release. A hugely popular soul-jazz album featuring Patton, Grant Green, and Bobby Hutcherson, all stars of the 60s. Features the transparent vibes of "LaTona," Hank Mobley's jazz-rock "The Turnaround," the cool blues of "Jah-Kee," and other modal and stylish tracks.

② "EASY WALKER" - STANLEY TURRENTINE
1966 release. A soul-jazz masterpiece that Turrentine considers his best from the BN era, including the funky jazz-rock track A1 and a cover of Burt Bacharach's B2. Stylish jacket is also attractive.

③ "LOVE BUG" - REUBEN WILSON
1969 release. A funky & groovy masterpiece featured in Suburbia. The opening track "Hot Rod" and the title track are groovy and fun. "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me" is a cover of a soul/pop hit. Also notable for its luxurious cast including Lee Morgan, George Coleman, and Grant Green.

④ "THINK" - LONNIE SMITH
A masterpiece of organ jazz featuring Lee Morgan, Melvin Sparks, and Pucho. This funky album, with its title taken from an Aretha Franklin hit, reflects Smith's R&B tastes. The title track in particular is a classic, the theme song of the 90's jazz-funk boom. A heavy beat that becomes addictive. 1968 release.
