☆ 1980's "L.L.Bean" BOAT&TOTE USA Tote Bag

This is an LL Bean Boat and Tote made in the USA in the 1980s.

Key features for dating this bag include the two-tone tag, the blue guide lines on both sides of the bag for stitching or alignment, and the short handles that are too short to be worn on the shoulder. Current models have longer handles that can be worn on the shoulder.

Items from the 80s are expected to continue to appreciate in value, so I don't think they will depreciate.

I bought this bag from a vintage clothing store about 15 years ago and have never used it. It has been stored in a closet ever since.

There is some wear and tear on the bottom and corners, as well as some staining and yellowing due to long-term storage. However, these are all minor and do not detract from the overall appearance of the bag. Otherwise, the bag is in excellent condition for its age and can be considered a very good example.

The canvas is stiff and stands on its own. The handles are also stiff and stand up. There is some slight fading on the handles, but no fraying.

Personally, I think LL Bean totes look best with a bit of wear and tear.
