The specific title for this subject is commonly "Le petit violoniste" (The Little Violinist) or similar variations like "Amour Petit" (Little Love) if the subject is considered a cherub or cupid figure.
This sculpture is signed "Moreau," and although it is not an original piece, it is a fine bronze replica example. The work itself is in the Art Nouveau style, popular during the late 19th to early 20th centuries. The sculpture was cast in bronze using the lost wax method, and mounted on a marble base. There is a slight detachment of the bow from the right hand, but this is easily fixable.
