The foundation of sound is the movement of air, and controlling it is key to headphone design. The "True Open-Air Audio" design, which controls airflow and reproduces the original sound only through the movement of the diaphragm, has two main points.

The first is the difference in sound design between closed-back, semi-open, and open-back headphones. Open-back headphones have an open housing, allowing air to flow directly and smoothly. This results in pure, realistic, and natural sound that doesn't cause listening fatigue even during long monitoring sessions.

The second is the precision of the driver design. The sound of Audio-Technica's open-back headphones is created through transducer technology cultivated over many years. By pouring that technology into the driver developed for "True Open-Air Audio," the sound reproduced by the driver is delivered directly to the ear. Furthermore, our headphone technology, which allows us to design the driver from scratch, covers even the low frequencies that are controlled by the housing of closed-back and semi-open models.

Each time the diaphragm moves, sound is instantly created from the vibration of the air, so the frequency is not artificially converted, nor does it change by utilizing acoustic ducts or resonance. As a result, a pure and realistic sound field can be achieved.
