This is a vintage or antique metal, silver-plated, teapot-shaped tea infuser.
It is designed for brewing loose-leaf tea in a cup or teapot.
The small holes allow water to circulate while keeping the tea leaves contained.
A chain is attached to help retrieve the infuser from the hot water.
