A pair of Franciscan mid-century modern cups and saucers in the Atomic Starburst pattern, made by Franciscan Ware (part of Gladding, McBean & Co.) between 1954-1957. The saucers are slightly elliptical (5 3/4" x 6") and have the Franciscan backstamp. There are no chips, cracks or flakes on the saucers. The cups are about 4 1/2" over the handle (3 1/4" opening) and about 2 1/4" high. The cups hold about 8 ounces. One cup has a small flake on the rim and a 1" hairline crack on the side near the handle. The other cup has a fleabite on the rim plus significant damage around the handle and is only suitable for display. The colors are vibrant and overall, the pieces are in good to fair used vintage condition as noted in the description and pictures.
