"Thrift Cookers" were designed to fit into a dedicated well in a stovetop. The lid says "high speed cooker CALROD". The pot says "EKCO products company made in the USA - 001901". Baked on residue in the crevices. A moderate amount of wear, scratches, scuffs, and some rust. I am unsure if all of the pieces are present that it would have come with new. There is only one lid and a single pot. There are no markings but I believe this to hold 5 quarts based on measurements.
General Product Details:
A thrift cooker is a vintage, built-in slow cooker, primarily featured on 1930s-1950s Hotpoint electric ranges. It is recessed into the stove surface, saving counter space while allowing for simmering, stewing, or acting as a double boiler, often marketed for its energy efficiency and convenience.
