1938 Yugoslavia Silver 20 Dinara

Add history and intrigue to your collection with a 20 Dinara 1938 silver coin from the one-time Kingdom of Yugoslavia. The obverse depicts its last monarch, Peter II. When he fled to England in 1941 at the outbreak of WWII, the monarchy collapsed. It was officially abolished in 1945 and replaced with a federation of six republics. Reverse depicts a crowned double eagle with a shield.

Issued over 85 years ago, these 75% silver coins circulated as Hitler’s troops invaded Yugoslavia. Struck only in 1938, they feature an edge inscription that translates to god save yugoslavia.
