Vintage MCM Taylor Brand 50s Cygnus Stormoscope Barometer - NEW in Original Box

WOW! This good-looking Vintage 1950s Barometer is brand new, unused, and in its original box! I am the first to take it out of its box. Wait…back up…what’s a barometer you ask? A barometer measures atmospheric pressure to help predict the weather.

Most MCM homes had one or more of these weather stations to help assist in determining what the weather would be like for the day. Remember, this was BEFORE the internet and at a time when not every household had a single TV yet.

This one is really handsome with its heavy solid metallic gold exterior case and the faux brown leather surrounding the stainless steel dial. Printed on the reverse, are guidelines for using the barometer and forecasting the weather.

These look great with MCM furnishings and are a great conversation piece as well. Place one on a shelf, the mantle, a console or end table. Measures 5.5 wide x 5 high x 2 deep. Includes original box and instructions for use.
